2025 Municipal Election Campaign

The Edmonton Chapter of CSSDP has launched a drug policy information campaign leading up to the Edmonton municipal election. The goal of the campaign is to provide information to the official candidates about the drug poisoning crisis in Edmonton, and inform voters about candidates’ positions on drug policy issues.

Municipal election candidates have been provided with an evidence brief outlining the current drug poisoning crisis in Edmonton, which claimed the lives of 87 people in March alone, the highest amount of opioid-related deaths since tracking began in 2016. Candidates have been asked to complete a survey to share their perspectives on drug policy issues in Edmonton.

Survey results will be shared publicly to empower voters to make informed decisions in the upcoming election. Edmontonians can follow along with this year’s campaign on CSSDP Edmonton Chapter’s official social media: Instagram, Facebook, X.

Candidates’ responses are shared in full, HERE.
